Be Real: A Study On 1 John

Not everything that feels spiritual is from God. First John 4 calls believers to test the spirits by measuring every teaching against the truth of who Jesus is, fully human and fully God. True teaching keeps Jesus at the center, not our comfort or personal gain. God is not just loving; He is love itself, and that love was demonstrated by sending His Son as the payment for our sins. Because we have been forgiven an impossible debt, we are called to extend that same forgiving love to others. Walking in agape love is not what saves us, but it is what proves we belong to Him. As we grow in faith, fear loses its grip and the settled love of God takes its place. The Holy Spirit is our compass, always pointing us back to true north.
