BE Real : A Study On 1 John

First John 2 gives us six practical tests to examine whether our faith is genuine, not to condemn us, but to help us grow. The first test asks whether we truly understand that Christ, not confession alone, is what cleanses us from sin. The second asks whether our obedience reflects a real knowledge of God, and the third challenges us to consider whether the truth we hold produces love or contempt toward others. The fourth test calls us to live from a secure identity in Christ, knowing we are already forgiven. The fifth asks whether we desire God more than the things the world offers, and the sixth, the foundation beneath all the others, asks who Jesus truly is to us. These tests are not a checklist for condemnation but an invitation to see clearly where we are and where God is calling us to grow.
