Distress to Enlargement

Life has a way of pressing in on us through relationship conflict, health challenges, financial pressure, and anxiety. In Psalm 4:1, the Hebrew word for distress is 'tsar,' meaning to be in a narrow or tight place, like something intentionally squeezing the life out of you. But when David says God gave him relief, the Hebrew word 'rahav' does not mean God removed the problem. It means God enlarged him in the middle of it. Just as Isaac named a well Rehoboth, meaning 'He made room,' God's pattern is not always to remove the threat but to make you bigger than it. Through trials, He builds spiritual endurance, provides strength beyond your own, and opens your eyes to the resources He has already placed around you. His plan for you is not constriction. It is expansion.
