When God shows up in Scripture, fire always appears - from Abraham's covenant to Pentecost. This divine fire represents God's transforming presence, but our hearts can grow cold through focusing on our performance rather than His love, neglecting prayer, avoiding sacrifice, and seeking comfort elsewhere. True repentance means changing direction and walking back toward God's purpose. The intensity of fire in our hearts is inversely proportional to our excuses. God tenderly restores the broken, as He did with Peter around a fire on the shore. We can choose vision-driven Christianity that starts with our plans, or kingdom-driven Christianity that begins with God's fire and purposes.
