Not In Despair

May 10, 2026

When life's circumstances flood us with discouragement and we feel perplexed about our next steps, God has a powerful response. The apostle Paul reminds us that we can be perplexed without falling into despair because our hope remains in God's sovereignty. Isaiah 59:19 reveals that when the enemy attacks, God moves like a flood to drive the enemy away from our promises and dreams. David's response to crisis teaches us to strengthen ourselves in the Lord through worship before seeking direction through prayer. God's command to pursue, overtake, and recover all shows us that nothing the enemy has stolen needs to remain lost. Like Elijah hearing the sound of abundance during drought, we must keep looking for God's breakthrough even when we see no immediate signs.
